  • M.Ed., B.Ed. or a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated instructional leadership skills and knowledge of how to effectively develop and implement curriculum

  • Must have considerable knowledge of how to effectively integrate the skills and processes required by government into curriculum.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school staff, parents, community and upper management.
  • Ability to use computer including software, database, and MS Office Suite, calculator, copy machine and telephone. Experienced with the learning platforms, scheduling apps, MS Teams, Zoom etc.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Ability to use effective interview techniques and public speaking skills.
  • Attention to details, organization skills.
  • A high command of written and spoken English is a must.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Principal performs to achieve excellence in five main functions: instructional leadership, executive leadership, human capital, strategic operations, and school culture.
  • The Principal provides leadership and administration to the staff and students, motivates instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance to provide the best possible opportunities for student growth and development, both educationally and personally.
  • The Principal reports to the CEO/Superintendent and supervises the classroom teachers, teaching assistants, classroom assistants, one-to-one assistants, campus coach(es), and the Assistant Principal(s).
Other than that, the Principal must:
  • Understand and support the mission, vision and values of IVY International Schools
  • Monitors multiple forms of student data to inform instruction and intervention decisions to maximize student achievement
  • Discipline students according to school policy and enforce campus rules, such as the dress code and attendance policy.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents and students to provide the best education for each student and assist them in their academic and professional goals.
  • Participate in hiring, training and other employment activities for instructors and secondary staff members to create a high-performing team.
  • Provide guidance and counseling services to students on their academic or vocational goals and offer assistance with behavioral modification programs.
  • Lead professional development programs for staff and encourage instructors to attend regional conferences to maintain the best academic programs.
  • Establish curriculum guidelines in collaboration with other administrators and instructors in the school district and ensure that guidelines are adhered to.
  • Oversee budgeting and determine budget allocations for items such as supplies, materials, staff and equipment.
  • Collaborate with district staff to implement district policies and advocate for the needs of students and staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
  • Work requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, vocal communication for expressing or exchanging ideas, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
  • Job may require occasional light lifting.
  • Nights and weekend activities may be occasionally required.
  • Travel to other cities or overseas may be needed.

  • Maintain an effective educational program consistent with the philosophy, policies and goals of the School Board and administration.
  • Work in coordination with the international partner to implement the educational model with fidelity
  • Establish and implement a shared vision and culture of high expectations for all staff and students
  • Evaluate teachers and other staff members to ensure that the standardized curriculum is adhered to and identify areas of improvement.
