Description: Role
The Chief Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, i.e. developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Deputy to the Finance Manager and leads the accounts team as and when required. 

  • Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations

  • Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. AR, AP, GL, journal entries.

  • Verify and post pending supplier invoices

  • Review and verify stock status reports across sales locations.

  • Verifies and reports group’s funds positioning.

  • Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to the CEO.

  • Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries

  • Reconciles transactions in RMS/Microsys/Ameen.

  • Monitors Warehouse Item creation file and transfers (IN/OUT)

  • Verifies monthly entries for Depreciation/ Leavers / Indemnity.

  • Reviews and posts salaries

  • Reviews Trial Balance & adjustment entries

  • Reviews Daily Sales Report.

  • Performing any other task as assigned from Line Manager


Qualifications:
  • CPA or Min Degree in Accounting/Finance/ACCA qualification

  • Min 3-5 year’s relevant experience in financial & management accounting preferably in a retail company.

  • Relevant experience in audit and costing is an advantage.

  • Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact at all levels.

  • Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.

  • Able to work independently and highly meticulous.

  • Working experience in RMS is highly regarded.
