Description:
  • Plan, organize and direct all the activities of the cost accounting function
  • Manage day to day operations of the existing cost accounting function from management of current unit costs to monthly close and analysis
  • Manage the transition from the existing cost environment to a new cost system
  • Identify, hire and develop cost accountants
  • Development and maintenance of standard costs
  • Perform the monthly closing activities including preparation of the cost statement along with supporting analysis
  • Proactive analysis of variances and communication of issues and opportunities to the rest of Finance
  • Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers
  • Define policies and procedures for all cost accounting activities
  • Responsible for inventory accounting and reporting
  • Creating and executing an end-to-end planning process for the Sector
  • Supporting the Head of Finance in preparing the Sector’s strategy reviews
  • Creation of the 3-year business plans
  • Economic modelling
  • Management reporting according to Wadi requirements
  • Internal approvals process for capital activities
  • Ownership of external business plan communications to Wadi JV partners, as applicable
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in commerce, business, or economics.
  • 7+ years of proven track record of delivery in planning and performance management in the Sector
  • Ability to practically apply economic evaluation methods that are standard within the industry
  • Ability to communicate outside of core area of expertise, and work with technical staff to create business cases
  • Proven track record of coaching and development of junior staff
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of English language.
  • Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Prior Sector experience will be a significant advantage to effective performance of the role.
